Loving Childcare for Toddlers from around 14 Months to 3.5 Years
Just 4–5 children per caregiver – providing individual attention, regular trips to nearby playgrounds, sensory activities, creative and early learning experiences, and plenty of time for free play.

Our toddler group is called “Löwenzahn” – the German word for “dandelion”
Our Löwenzahn Group
Our caregiver-to-child ratio allows us to respond individually to each child’s needs, abilities and development throughout the day.
Regular and trusting communication with parents is very important to us. We keep you informed every day about your child’s experiences, development and well-being. We are always available for brief conversations, while developmental reviews or longer discussions can be arranged by appointment, allowing plenty of time to talk through any questions you may have.
When children move from our Gänseblümchen Baby Group to the Löwenzahn Toddler Group, we support them through a smooth and gradual transition within Krabbelnest. For children who are new to our nursery, we place the same emphasis on a gentle settling-in period in close cooperation with their parents.
A key focus of our Löwenzahn Toddler Group is movement and active play, alongside Montessori activities and materials. We regularly take the children to nearby playgrounds, giving them plenty of opportunities to move, explore and play outdoors. Especially at a time when children have fewer opportunities for outdoor movement in everyday life, we believe these experiences are particularly important.
In the mornings, you will often find our Löwenzahn children at one of the nearby playgrounds. When we stay indoors, they have plenty of opportunities to be active in our dedicated movement room – climbing, dancing, exercising, enjoying movement songs and exploring a variety of changing movement activities.
We also provide plenty of time, space and materials for free play. Through play, children develop concentration, creativity, problem-solving skills and social skills – often more naturally than through adult-led activities or structured games.
It is very important to us to involve children in everyday activities. Tidying up together, making the beds, hanging up towels, getting dressed or setting the table – everyday routines offer countless opportunities for children to learn, participate and experience a sense of independence and achievement.
Our Löwenzahn children also enjoy exploring and working with a wide variety of materials and tools, from paints and modelling dough to preparing food together. They paint, cut, stir, experiment and discover. Cooking and baking activities are especially popular with the children.
